Established in 1980, this masjid is located in a busy area but it has a friendly, peaceful atmosphere inside. The building has a community fridge for food for those in need. It is the closest mosque for the Long Island City neighborhood.
Cafe Mogador
Originating in the East Village, Cafe Mogador was both an early pioneer in the NYC restaurant world and a downtown cultural hub. It has gained tremendous recognition since its beginning in 1983, solidifying its place as a neighborhood institution and culinary destination. It has a second location in Williamsburg, both operated by its founding family.

Located in the heart of Little Egypt, this café offers coffee and fresh pastries. Prices are pretty reasonable, and service is said to be friendly and quick. Both indoor and outdoor dining is available here.
